Fungifriday Walking Among Giants

When you see how ants move in a world of gigantic mushrooms, that’s when you know we are small — very small. And here is the irrefutable proof: a little one crawls through the folds of a beautiful flower that rises imposingly from the ground.
There she finds shelter, a place to rest, food and water, as well as protection — a space where she must feel very safe.

These mythical beings that our friend Marpa always said only appear to magical beings with a noble heart are, without a doubt. Because many times I have walked by and only I could see them on the path. The rest of the people didn’t even notice their presence. So the legend is true: they decide who to reveal themselves to.

Here you have them, imposing like an oak, just as we’ve seen them in movies, cartoons, and every kind of magical adventure on TV or in the cinema. But my friends, there is nothing more imposing and impressive than seeing them face to face.

Dragging yourself to get a good shot, or just taking the photo like the first one here, and realizing there was someone else you hadn’t seen… and when you see it, your soul fills with gratitude and satisfaction toward our Mother Nature.

Enjoy the pictures and always remember: never, ever touch, smell, and much less eat a mushroom unless you are sure of how dangerous it is.

You can die trying. We must always respect these wonders.
