Classics During the Modern Times

Even if my attention wasn't fully on this rally in 2023, especially on taking pictures of all the participant cars due to exploring it in the company of some relatives visiting me and my sister, I still managed to capture a few shots that I thought it would be lovely to share on the chain since many of us do love classics even in the modern times.

They were part of the Transylvania Classic Rally which is held yearly in Sibiu and it represents the largest such rally for Romania, as well as an open-air exhibition with the cars taking part within.

Obviously, things are meant to evolve with the passage of time, and that's also the main reason why for a few years already the classic rally includes also electric and hybrid vehicles, but I'll keep those shots for a future post to only focus on the classics now.

Volskwagen Golf (1991)

For some of you, these cars might not seem unfamiliar, but as a kid who was born in 90s, even if some of these vehicles were going down the streets I was way too young to remember them.

Either way, I find it really cool to be able to see them in the modern times when the accent is put more on the future vehicles, so I am happy to manage to see them in person and even check the inside of some of them.

Great pick! That one is actually the model that is never missing in this yearly rally/exhibition. Might as well be the car of the organizers or something like that because it's always kept in a secret spot than the others, lol!

Those wired wheels on the MGB are so cool. Classic, I'd say. But even cooler than that is the contrast between a car from 1929 and the others. It took us ages to go from the horse to a car and then suddenly it evolves like crazy

I know, right?? It's been the first time I've seen something alike.
Personally, I'd still enjoy the classics over the modern ones which not only that evolve like crazy but so does the number of car accidents sadly!

Yah, but in no way i'd want to crash in a 29 ford w/o seat belt and airbags 🤣

Classic cars are indeed a benchmark in themselves. They have no match. The designs of that era were so elegant, and back then, they were our dream cars.

Absolutely. I wish they would keep a bit of that design even for the modern times.
