Greetings, friends. These days, I have little time to go out and relax, as I spend almost all my time working.

Well, recently I had the opportunity to spend some free time with my partner, relaxing and enjoying each other's company. We went to a park that I had never been to before, despite the time I have spent here in Ibarra, Ecuador.

Saludos amigos. Hoy en día tengo poco tiempo para salir y distraerme, pues casi todo el tiempo lo ocupo en trabajar.

Pues bien, hace poco tuve la oportunidad de compartir con mi pareja un poco de tiempo libre para distraernos y pasar tiempo juntos. El lugar al que llegamos es un Parque al que nunca había ido a pesar del tiempo que tengo aquí en Ibarra, Ecuador.

It is a relatively new park, which opened at the end of last year. It is located quite far from where I live, so a taxi is necessary to get there, because it would take a little over half an hour on foot.

It is a beautiful space in my opinion, a huge place full of green areas with a couple of central areas for people to take their obligatory photos at the park's water fountains.

Es un parque relativamente nuevo, que fue inaugurado a finales del año pasado. Está ubicado bastante lejos de dónde vivo, así que un taxi es necesario para llegar, porque a pie tardaría poco más de media hora.

Es un espacio hermoso en mi opinión, un lugar enorme y repleto de áreas verdes con un par de zonas centrales para que las personas tomen sus obligatorias fotos en las fuentes de agua del parque.

Obviously, the fountain in the image below is much prettier. It has an artificial stream surrounded by rocks and grass that make it look natural, when in fact it is almost entirely artificial, as far as I know.

I watched for a few minutes and didn't see any fish, so I guess there aren't any in the fountain, even though it looks like there are.

Evidentemente, la fuente de la imagen de abajo es mucho más bonita. Tiene como un riachuelo artificial rodeado de rocas y pasto que lo hacen parecer natural, cuando es artificial casi en su totalidad, hasta donde sé.

Estuve observando por unos minutos y no ví peces, así que supongo que no cuenta con estos en su fuente, aunque de la apariencia de que sí.

As I said, it has lots of green areas where people can exercise, spend time, and relax. However, there are numerous paths where people can ride bicycles, for example, without any problems.

Similarly, there are many benches embedded in walls or simply on either side of the paths. What I did notice is that there are no trees or awnings to provide shade, which is counterproductive on sunny days.

Como dije, tiene un montón de áreas verdes para que las personas puedan hacer ejercicio, pasar el tiempo y distraerse. Sin embargo, cuentan con numerosas caminerias para las personas puedan circular en bicicletas, por ejemplo, sin ningún tipo de problema.

De igual manera tiene muchos banquillos incrustados en muros o simplemente a cada lado de las caminerias. Lo que sí ví es que no hay árboles ni toldos que den sombra, algo contraproducente para los días soleados.

As a sculptor, there was something I saw in the park that caught my attention: sculptures.

Al ser escultor, hubo algo que ví en el parque que llamó mucho mi atención: esculturas.

I always enjoy seeing this type of work when it is exhibited in public areas, as the sculpture can be viewed in all its splendor, allowing the sunlight to highlight the beauty of the piece.

As you can see in the image below and in the two photos above, the sculptures are very similar, which leads me to believe that they may be by the same artist.

Siempre me gusta ver este tipo de trabajos cuando están exhibidos en áreas públicas, pues se ve con total esplendor la escultura, permitiendo que la luz del sol luzca la belleza de la obra.

Como pueden ver en la imagen de abajo y en el par de fotos de arriba, las esculturas son muy parecidas, lo que me hace entender que tal vez sean del mismo artista.

There was another sculpture of a bird. It looked beautiful among the green areas; however, there was another sculpture that, although it did look like a sculpture, reminded me of those devices used for climbing, because of the little things it has along the numerous geometric shapes of the work.

Habían una escultura más de un ave. Está se veía bellísima entre las áreas verdes; sin embargo, estaba otra escultura que, aunque sí parecía una escultura, me recordó a aquellos artilugios que se usan para escalar, por las cositas que tiene a lo largo de las numerosas formas geométricas de la obra.

As I mentioned above, there are no trees providing shade; despite this, there are many palm trees, bushes, and flowers in all the green areas throughout the park.

In addition, from the park you could see one of the city's mountains, which freezes over at this time of year, creating a truly impressive view.

Como dije más arriba, no hay árboles que hagan sombra; a pesar de esto, sí hay muchas palmas, arbustos y flores en todas las áreas verdes a lo largo del parque.

Además, desde el parque se veía una de las montañas de la ciudad que se congela durante esta época del año, logrando una vista ciertamente impresionante.

Precisely because of the park's green areas, it was very common to encounter many birds.

Obviously, they did not allow one to get too close, because they would fly away. However, I managed to capture a couple of doves on video as they walked calmly through one of the remote areas of the park (where there were not many people).

Precisamente por las áreas verdes del parque era muy común encontrarme con muchos pajaritos.

Evidentemente no permitían que uno se acercara demasiado, porque se iban volando. Pero logré capturar en video a un par de tortolas que caminaban tranquilamente por una de las áreas alejadas del parque (donde no habían muchas personas).

All in all, I really enjoyed my visit to the park because I had a lot of fun and was able to be in a different environment from the city, in contact with nature, even if it was somewhat artificial...

En definitiva disfruté mucho mi visita al parque porque me distraje mucho y pude estar en un ambiente distinto a la ciudad, en contacto con la naturaleza, aunque sea de cierta forma artificial...
