Greetings friends. A few days ago in the city where I live, an area where there is a traffic circle called "Redondel de Ajaví" was flooded. A Redondel is a round shaped building with streets around it where cars circulate.

Well, due to the rains all this area was completely covered by water and mud. Well, it didn't take long for the cleaning and recovery of all this roundel, in whose area is located the park that is the subject of this publication, the Parque la puerta de Ibarra (Ibarra's door park).

It is located right next to the Ajaví Roundabout. If we analyze it well, they are like two small parks located next to each other, so I will talk about these two places and their emblematic works.La Puerta de Ibarra Park

Saludos amigos. Hace turnos días en la ciudad donde vivo se inundó un área donde se encuentra un Redondel llamado "Redondel de Ajaví". Un Redondel es una edificación de forma redonda con calles a su alrededor por dónde circulan autos.

Pues bien, debido a las lluvias toda esta área quedó completamente tapada por agua y barro. Pues bien, no tardaron mucho en la limpieza y recuperación de toda este redondel, en cuya área se encuentra el parque que es el objeto de esta publicación, el Parque la puerta de Ibarra.

Está ubicado justo al lado del Redondel de Ajaví. Si lo analizamos bien son como dos pequeños parques ubicados uno al lado del otro, así que les hablaré de estos dos lugares y sus emblemáticas obras.

I will start by telling you about the gate park. This place is so called because it is the entrance to the city since its foundation; in fact, in the park there is a gate made of iron that symbolizes a door, as you can see in the picture below.

Comenzaré hablándoles sobre el parque de la puerta. Este lugar se llama así debido a que es la entrada a la ciudad desde su fundación; de hecho, en el parque hay una puerta hecha de hierro que simboliza una puerta, tal como pueden ver en la imagen de abajo.

Something very interesting is that the gate made of iron that I already mentioned, has a text that explains why this place is called the gate of Ibarra.

Well, the long street that leads to the city is in this location. There in the writing it says that this location where the iron work is, is the entrance to Ibarra, hence the name of the park and all this symbolism that encompasses this small but very interesting place, which was the victim of flooding just a few days ago.

Algo muy interesante es que la puerta hecha de hierro que ya les mencioné, tiene un texto que explica el por qué este sitio se llama la puerta de Ibarra.

Pues bien, la calle larga que dirige a la ciudad está en esta ubicación. Allí en el escrito dice que esta ubicación donde está la obra de hierro, es la entrada de Ibarra, de ahí el nombre del parque y todo este simbolismo que engloba a este pequeño pero muy interesante lugar, que fue víctima de inundaciones hace apenas unos días.

I must confess that I would have liked to show you better pictures of the Gateway Park; however, the rains ruined the electrical circuit of it and the lights that it has at dusk / nightfall no longer works, hence why I decided to come to this place to take the picture while it was still sunny, as it would be a nonsense to come at dusk and not be able to see the lights of it.

It will be a while before it can return to what it was, but it is still a good monument to give a good welcome to visitors who have just arrived in the city.

Debo confesar que me habría gustado mostrarles mejores fotografías del Parque de la puerta; sin embargo, las lluvias arruinaron el circuito eléctrico del mismo y las luces que tiene al atardecer/anochecer ya no funciona, de ahí el que haya decidido venir a este lugar a tomar la fotografía mientras aún había sol, ya que sería un despropósito venir al anochecer y no poder ver las luces del mismo.

Pasará un tiempo para que pueda volver a lo que era, aún así es un buen monumento para dar una buena bienvenida a Los visitantes que recién llegan a la ciudad.

Well, right next to this park is the roundel that I already mentioned.

It is an ordinary traffic circle, but it is right next to the Parque de la puerta and I did not want to miss the opportunity to talk a little about this traffic circle and two works that are in it, the first is the cross of ajavi, a work of great size that is, as its name says, a cross.

Another work that is also found in this roundel is a beautiful sculpture of St. Michael the Archangel who is as the statue itself says the patron saint of the city of Ibarra.

Pues bien, justo al lado de este parque se encuentra el redondel que ya les mencioné.

Es un Redondel común y corriente, pero está justo al lado del Parque de la puerta y no quería perder la oportunidad de hablar un poco sobre este redondel y dos obras que se encuentran en el mismo la primera es la cruz de ajavi una obra de Gran tamaño que es como su nombre lo dice una cruz.

Otra obra que también se encuentra en este redondel es una escultura bellísima de San Miguel arcángel que es como lo dice la propia estatua el patrono de la ciudad de Ibarra.

This traffic circle is very similar to others in the city, with the difference that here you can walk and walk along the concrete walkways.

The green areas of the traffic circle are very well maintained and being the rainy season, the vegetation is green and lush; however, it has been well taken care of so that it does not invade the gray or concrete areas, such as walkways and others, which together adorn this beautiful traffic circle.

Este redondel es muy parecido a otros de la ciudad, con la diferencia de que aquí sí se puede caminar y transitar por las caminerías de concreto.

Las áreas verdes del redondel están muy bien cuidadas y al ser época de lluvia, la vegetación se encuentra verde y frondosa; sin embargo, se ha cuidado bien para que esta no invada las áreas grises o de concreto, como caminerías y demás, que adornan en conjunto este hermoso redondel.

There is not much to say about the two works in the roundel, so I will simply mention my opinion about them.

The first one is the Ajaví cross. As you can see it is a sculpture or a work of great size, really tall that has the symbolism of a crucifix but taken to an architectural or artistic work.

It is located at one end of the traffic circle, very close to the name of the traffic circle. It can be seen from far away; in fact, when I was arriving to the traffic circle the first thing I saw was this cross. This is called the Ajaví cross in honor or in representation of the Ajaví Grande neighborhood, which is where this small traffic circle is located.

No hay mucho que decir sobre las dos obras del redondel, así que simplemente les mencionaré mi opinión sobre las mismas.

La primera es la cruz de Ajaví. Como pueden ver es una escultura o una obra de Gran tamaño, realmente alta que tiene el simbolismo de un crucifijo pero llevado a una obra arquitectónica o artística.

Está ubicado en un extremo de redondel, muy cerca del nombre del mismo. Se puede divisar desde lejos; de hecho, cuando iba llegando al redondel lo primero que vi fue esta cruz. Esta se llama cruz de Ajaví en honor o en representación del barrio Ajaví Grande, que es donde se encuentra este pequeño redondel.

The third and last work I will talk about is this statue of the patron saint of Ibarra, St. Michael the Archangel.

As you can see, it is a work with a lot of detail that reminds me of great statues of illustrious artists of the past, who made that material as hard as stones, became works that simulated the mobility of the fabric or the softness of a fine linen.

It is a work that attracts a lot of attention, but among the vegetation, cars and the hectic lifestyle of the city, it can go unnoticed.

That is the reason for this post, that is why I took the trouble to come to this place to portray these three works, because they are three very emblematic and interesting works of the city, which were worth sharing so that they do not go unnoticed among so much hustle and bustle and so much urban movement.

La tercera y última obra de las que les hablare es esta estatua del patrono de Ibarra, San Miguel Arcángel.

Como pueden ver, es una obra con mucho detalle que me recuerda a grandes estatuas de ilustres artistas del pasado, que hacían que material tan duros como piedras, se convirtieran en obras que simularan la movilidad de la tela o la suavidad de un lino fino.

Es una obra que llama mucho la atención, pero que entre la vegetación, los autos y el agitado estilo de vida de la ciudad, puede llegar a pasar desapercibida.

Por eso el motivo del post, por eso me tomé la molestia de venir a este lugar a retratar estas tres obras, porque son tres obras muy emblemáticas e interesantes de la ciudad, que bien valía la pena compartir para que no pasen desapercibidas entre tanto bullicio y entre tanto movimiento urbano.
