Contemplating Art [ENG/SPA]
The other day I was visiting a store where they sell all kinds of objects for the home. I went through the whole place and found everything I saw interesting; however, the things that caught my attention the most were definitely the works of art they sold there.
They were exhibited like a gallery in a museum, so I took the time to observe each and every one of them in order to appreciate in detail the beautiful art that was here.
The first ones I came across were some religious statues, maybe they are Buddhist, I don't know, but they certainly looked impressive for the good finish they had. It is one thing to see a work of art displayed in a museum and another to see up close the brushstrokes and different shades of paint used to achieve these finishes.

El otro día estuve de visita a un almacén en donde venden todo tipo de objetos para el hogar. Recorrí todo el sitio y me pareció interesante todo lo que vi; sin embargo, las cosas que más llamaron mi atención definitivamente fueron las obras de arte que allí vendían.
Estaban expuestas cual galería en un museo, así que me tomé el tiempo de observar todas y cada una de las que exhibían para poder apreciar en detalle el arte tan hermoso que aquí había.
Las primeras que me encontré fueron unas obras de estatuas religiosas, quizás sean budistas, no lo sé, pero ciertamente se veían impresionantes por el buen acabado que tenían. Una cosa es ver una obra de arte expuesta en un museo y otra es ver de cerca as pinceladas y distintas tonalidades de pintura usadas para lograr estos acabados.
Others I found were those of some beautiful women. They stand out for their expressiveness and beautiful faces; in addition, each of these works of women are decorated with stones and other ornaments that give a kind of realism to the works.
Some very interesting ones were the landscapes, which are never missing in this type of exhibitions. What is interesting, and what strikes me in one of the paintings (the one of the bicycle), is a phrase I once heard in a movie, in which he explained that placing the horizon at the top of a composition or at the bottom, made it more interesting, while if it was placed in the middle it made it boring.
The one of the bicycle fulfills this, since the main actor of the work is at the bottom of the painting and the horizon is at the top, at the end. On the other hand, in the painting of the ships, the horizon is in the middle, making it, according to that phrase, a bit boring.
Otras que encontré fueron las de unas hermosas mujeres. Resaltan por su expresividad y rostros tan hermosos; además, cada una de estas obras de mujeres están decoradas con piedras y otros adornos que le dan una suerte de realismo a las obras.
Una muy interesantes fueron las de paisajes, que nunca faltan en este tipo de exhibiciones. Lo interesante, y me llama la atención en una de las pinturas (la de la bicicleta), es una frase que escuché una vez en una película, en la que explicaba que colocar el horizonte en la cima de una composición o en la parte baja, hacía que esta fuese más interesante, mientras que si se colocaba en el medio esto la hacía aburrida.
La de la bicicleta cumple con esto, pues el actor principal de la obra está a pie de la pintura y el horizonte en la parte alta, al final. Por otra parte, en la pintura de los navíos, el horizonte está en el medio, haciéndolo, según aquella frase, un poco aburrida.
Other smaller but peculiar works were those of crustaceans. There are people who are fans of marine life, so I imagine that this type of work should fit like a glove to decorate spaces dedicated to marine life or simply the living room of someone who is fascinated by these animals.
Finally, the work that caught my attention the most was a black and white scene, with people walking in what seems to be a square, being what stands out the most some golden clothes of certain passers-by. I do not know if you could say that it is minimalist, but the work does not look loaded and somehow transmits peace, at least to me it transmitted that and for that reason it was my favorite of all.
Otras obras más pequeñas pero peculiares fueron las de unos crustáceos. Hay personas fanáticas de la vida marina, así que imagino que este tipo de obras debe quedar como anillo al dedo para decorar espacios dedicados a la vida marina o simplemente una sala de alguien que sienta fasciación por estos animales.
Finalmente la obra que más llamó mi atención fue la de una escena a blanco y negro, con personas caminando en lo que parece ser una plaza, siendo lo que más resalta algunas prendas en dorado de ciertos transeúntes. No sé si se podría decir que es minimalista, pero no se ve cargada la obra y en cierta forma trasmite paz, al menos a mi me trasmitió esa y por tal motivo fue mi favorita de todas.
These were just some of the works I saw that day. There were others but I only wanted to talk about these because they were the ones that caught my attention. Certainly they are works of art, although I don't know if they were painted completely by hand, you could see the brush strokes in all the paintings, so I presume that they were made by an artist, but you never know. Still, seeing these paintings is certainly a delight to the eyes.
Estas fueron solo algunas de las obras que vi ese día. Habían otras pero solo quise hablar de estas porque fueron las que mas llamaron mi atención. Ciertamente son obras de arte, aunque ignoro si fueron pintadas completamente a mano, sí se veían las pinceladas en todos los cuadros, así que presumo que si fueron hechas por un artista, pero uno nunca sabe. Aún así, ver estas pinturas sin dudas es un deleite a los ojos.
