Caracas Squares [ENG/SPA]

Portada.jpg

Greetings to all. In a previous post in the community I shared with you numerous photographs of the architecture that can be seen in many of the buildings in Caracas. On this occasion I would like to share a couple of emblematic locations in the city of Caracas, where you can observe the design of these works that are quite well known there in Caracas.

The first one is a square called La Castellana and the second one is another well known square called Altamira. They were two squares that I had the opportunity to visit, but I understand that they are totally different places. Look for example at La Castellana square, it is a little more modest, but with a very familiar air, with very nice decorations for the month of December.

On the other hand, there is the Plaza Altamira. This is much better known and emblematic in the city, not only for its unique design and the imposing obelisk that rises as the central focus of many photographs, but this square has a lot of history.

The person who accompanied me that day I was visiting, told me that during a time when there were protest rallies against the government, this square was a place where everyone gathered and often riots started there, being this square a problematic place because of this issue.

In fact nearby is the subway station, so when there were riots I imagine it was difficult for people to transit through this square to go to the subway, but I guess everyone managed, so every resident will have some anecdote or another concerning this beautiful square.

As I approached I wanted to take this picture, a view of the obelisk from below, so that you could appreciate the same perspective I had of this immense work of art when I was there. It is awe-inspiring.

Resulta sobrecogedor.

On the other hand, as I said when talking about the Plaza La Castellana, in both places there were many December decorations, something very nice and beautiful that serves to decorate these squares, as it contributes to beautify its design, dressing them with lights and colors that are not normally seen.

Although I guess they are illuminated, certainly the brightness and colors of the trees and decorations, contribute to beautify these beautiful and very busy places in the city.

Here are a few pictures of some of the decorations I saw in both squares.

In the surroundings one can marvel at the multitude of buildings that are there, but I already told you about those buildings in the previous post I made here in the community.

However, it is interesting to note that in the midst of all these buildings there is still room for smaller buildings like these plazas for families to enjoy and share.

The view is simply breathtaking, proof of how well designed and located the buildings are, both the squares and the buildings themselves, with the imposing mountain serving as a backdrop for the great obelisk of the Plaza Altamira.

Here is a photo that could well serve as a postcard...

I really enjoyed those walks through beautiful places like these I visited. The great thing is that I didn't walk the place alone, something great because otherwise I would have been lost hahaha. A villager in Caracas

Thanks for stopping by to visit my post.

Both squares are amazing, the one I liked the most was the one with the obelisk, it looks beautiful with those lights. It is a beautiful city.

That one is emblematic and very beautiful, without a doubt the huge obelisk and the colors it displays stand out.

I loved those buildings around the square, the colors, they have a very nice effect. Nice that you visited many places in Caracas, I hope someday to do the same. And if it is at Christmas time even better because I love the lights.

If you visit at Christmas time you will not only find the buildings brightly lit, but the craziness of the city, with lots of people in the streets shopping and buying, but the buildings and the sights are the most beautiful things you will see at that time.
