Thank you @rachaeldwatson!

I am willing to bet anything that you have more bugs and wildlife to deal with by far than what we have in the condensed cities.

Thank you for saying I have a green thumb. It is a dream of mine to one day live on my own small piece of land instead of being stuck in a city like I have for the past 38 years on this planet so I can grow medicinal plants to contribute to the world more efficiently than in a condensed city.

Right now I have a small aloe farm, some bamboos, tradescantias, a few small succulents, an old pepper plant that gives me peppers multiple times a year, and that's about it aside from the cannabis but only because I don't have more space for more plants lol.

We bought a small and I mean small lot up in North Arkansas in the hills. One day maybe we can actually live there. If not it'll make a good "bug out" spot. But again so will this place if we are able to get it.
Our landlord passed and her son offered my son a chance to buy it.(Waiting on the appraisal) We have neighbors but it's not like in the city.. They're across a pasture then across the road.
Far as growing things, I had a pretty nice garden this year considering how bad the soil was..
A man that lives not far from us drive his tractor over and disked it up for me.
We had tomatoes, peppers, pinto beans and purple hull peas, squash, cucumbers and watermelons. They all did fairly well considering the soil wasn't the greatest. (Found out with my tomatoes the ground had calcium deficiency.. Had to Google why my tomatoes were black on the bottom.) It affected my Roma's the worst. The celebrity tomatoes did a lot better. The peas and beans were fine, and so we're the peppers. Squash and watermelon.. We got some but not much.
The chickens killed my onions and potatoes I had planted outside the garden area in containers.. By digging in them. Anyways I just realize my reply was turning into a book🤦🥴
Anyways, I enjoy gardening but it is a lot of work.
Have you looked into vertical containers? You can grow all kinds of goodies in them and they didn't take up much space🤷
Ok for real I'm hushing🤣.. I'm high and rambling 🤣🤣

I don't mind the long replies. I also am long winded with responses sometimes :D

I hope you're able to get the place. It sounds like a good arrangement with a good amount of privacy.

The garden sounds like it was pretty nice. So much of that stuff I've never grown before myself. I had my first outdoor garden this year and fate had it that it couldn't just be mine because the neighbors insisted it was their plans too and we were to do it together, only to have them completely take it over and dictate how everything goes while dismissing my suggestions for certain things. So, I think I'll just stick with growing things in tents for now :/

Oh bless your heart I'm so sorry to hear that!!😞
I'm definitely not a gardener but I'd like to be! I've had a few gardens before but this was by far the most I've ever planted. Hopefully next year we can plant again... I've been working on composting, plan on covering the garden area and turn the chickens loose in there and let them help me mulch it all up🤭
Hopefully then we can get a better crop. As I said it did pretty good but the ground is lacking a lot apparently. I was told where I planted my peas and beans, that they fix the ground. Who knew lol 🤗
