A Few Hundred Pounds

Hello Everyone,

Busy morning here today.

I had to move some bags of mortar, and it's been a while since I've done any lifting like this, so I reminded myself of my strong will and said to myself "I am going to complete this task no matter what."

These bags are heavy, and I had to move them from my porch to the garage.

I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to complete the task because I haven't lifted bags of mortar in years.

It turns out I still got it.

Meaning I surprised myself with (what I would consider) pretty above average strength, and I'm really not the biggest guy in the world.

I moved the few hundred pounds of mortar without taking a break, and I know I'll be in some pain from this exercise with soreness, but I've heard a time or two in life that pain is weakness leaving the body.

For years I didn't take very good care of my health, in fact I completely neglected it, and blinded myself to this important aspect of life.

Exercise is important.

So I'm putting in that work!

You'd think I'd be blinded by that light, but my vision is still as good as the day I was born :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a blessed day! -@futuremind

What on earth do you need mortar for, and you have a garage?!

It's not my mortar.

I rent an apartment and have a front porch. Construction workers left a bunch of bags on the porch after their job was done, and I got sick of looking at them.

This place has a huge garage so I just decided to move all the bags into the garage, staged in a way where it will actually be easier for them to come get their mortar, so I doubt they'll mind, and now my porch isn't a mess :D

In the post I said "I had to" but I really didn't have to, I just decided to.

Good morning my friend 🤗

Thank you @rafzat.
I've come to realize that it is indeed very important.
For a long time I had to work through things in my mind before I could see that.

Similarly, it takes a lot of time to take care of the plants and everything has to be done with care or the plant will get damaged.

That is very true my friend.
For a long time I was obsessed with thoughts in my head that made it very difficult to care for them properly, so I am working on regular exercise and meditation now so that I can be more productive and caring for everything.
Thank you for all your support <3

if you believe, you can do it. How heavy was one bag?

I think they were 50 pound bags, and there were 4 full, and one about a 3rd full if my memory is correct. So actually it may have been a little less than 300 pounds, but it felt like 1000 pounds to me.

I also picked up them and put them down a few times too, so it's a very relative thing :D

I had to move a couple batteries that weighed ~150 lbs each the other day, and did a thing to my back doing it. Later that day I had to move a couple barrels of chemicals that were about the same weight, and was VERY careful not to do that thing again.

At least you're standing upright after your adventure!

Thanks!

Lucky you. I am on the other end. :(

Speaking of exercise: I never was doing sports for the sake of doing sports. In fact, detested it. Though I liked dancing and now, that I dance no longer, I switched to household-work. Bending and stretching on purpose in order to keep me fluid, crawling under desks and in corners when vacuum cleaning, kneading heavy dough by hand, carrying groceries instead of weal them around, taking steps instead of elevators (well, that I need doing more) and so on:)

So, I am with you, here :D - all the best for your back.

Moving concrete bags is not easy. Glad you got it done. It is indeed hard work.

Thanks man.
Been trying to get myself back into shape again.
I've been exercising a lot and eating a lot more, but also not over pushing myself. Ankles have been sore but otherwise I'm beasting it :D
