When Dryness Becomes Art

Today the weather was very dry, and it showed clearly in the plants and flowers that I photographed. Some of them already looked dried up, curled, and tired from the heat. Normally, that might sound a little disappointing, especially when we usually associate flowers and plants with freshness and softness. But from a photography point of view, there was also something very interesting about it. Because of the dryness, the texture became much clearer and more dominant. The details stood out in a way that made the subjects look raw, honest, and full of character.

That is the kind of photography opportunity that I would not want to miss. Even though it was warm outside, I still felt that urge to go out and take the photos while the light and the condition of the subjects created something unique. Sometimes beauty does not only appear in perfect conditions. Sometimes it also shows itself in wear, dryness, and imperfection. In black and white especially, those textures became even more noticeable, and I really liked how strong and expressive they looked.

Moments like this also remind me of something about life. I think we all have moments when conditions are not ideal, when things feel difficult, uncomfortable, or tiring, and yet we still keep going for the things that matter to us. We still pursue what we love because we are passionate about it. That passion gives us the willingness to continue, even when it would be easier to stay still or give up for the day.

For me, photography is one of those things. Even on a hot and dry day, I still find value in going outside and looking closely at the world around me. There is always something worth seeing, and sometimes the less perfect moments are the ones that reveal the most character.

Have a good day ahead!
