Walking Through Life in Black & White
For today’s post, I’m sharing something a little different from my usual style.
Most of the time my subjects are nature, flowers, or raindrops on leaves. This time, I ended up doing something closer to street photography, capturing shoes, a backpack, and the slogan printed on a shirt.

These are things we see every single day, especially in a mall or on public transport, but we rarely pay attention to them. Maybe that’s exactly why I felt like photographing them. I wanted to see if something so ordinary could still look interesting in black and white.
I focused on small details: the texture of the escalator steps, the shape of the sneakers, the way the backpack straps framed the person’s back, and the bold text on the shirt. By adjusting the exposure and keeping the background simple, the main subject stands out more clearly. The soft blur in the background and a good depth of field also helped create separation, giving each frame a clean and focused look.
What I like about this series is that it feels familiar, yet a little anonymous. You don’t see faces, only hints of people through the things they wear and carry. It reminds me that photography doesn’t always have to be about beautiful scenery. Sometimes everyday life, someone standing on an escalator, or just a pair of shoes waiting on the floor, can become a subject worth capturing.
It was a nice break from my usual nature shots, and I think experimenting like this helps me grow as a photographer. I hope you’ll still find these photos interesting in their own simple way.
Have a good day ahead, everyone.
