The Bouquet I Almost Missed
I’ve been passing by this bouquet of flowers for quite a while now.
Every time I see it, I tell myself, next time I’ll take a photo. But there was always a reason not to, too many people around, I was in a rush, or I just felt shy standing there pointing my camera at it.

Today, I finally caught a quiet moment. No one was paying attention, so I slowed down, took out my phone, and gave this flower the time it deserved. It felt like finally saying hello to someone you’ve been silently noticing for weeks.
What I like most about this bouquet is the texture. The petals aren’t smooth; they’re slightly crumpled and layered, almost like paper that has been folded and unfolded many times. In black and white, those details really come alive. The contrast between the bright petals and the darker leaves adds depth, and the shadows in between give the bouquet a sculpted look, almost three-dimensional.
I pushed the contrast and clarity a bit more during editing on my phone, just enough to make the textures pop without losing the softness of the flower. It’s interesting how a simple adjustment can reveal character that was already there, just waiting to be noticed.
Moments like this remind me why I keep going out with my camera or in this case, just my phone. Beauty is often right in front of us; we just need to stop long enough to see it.

”To see in color is a delight for the eye, but to see in black and white is delight for the soul.”

The choice of lightness allows the nicest one to pop!
