The Beauty of the Tiny World

avatar

I do have a passion for taking photos of tiny things. For me, they are interesting because it is not often that we get to see the world of the small. Most of the time, we walk past them without even noticing. But when we slow down and look closer, there is already so much beauty waiting there.

During my walk, I found these little subjects around the garden. A small shell resting on the ground, tiny mushrooms growing among the grass, delicate flowers, and little details that may easily be ignored. They are not grand subjects, but they have their own charm. I think that is why I enjoy photographing them.

In black and white, the tiny details become more dramatic. The texture of the shell, the shape of the mushrooms, the soft petals, and the darker leaves around them all become more noticeable. Without color, I feel like I can focus more on the form, light, and contrast.

Too bad I don’t have a micro lens. It would have been nice to have a camera setup that could show even more details of these small subjects. I can only imagine how beautiful they would look when captured even closer.

Still, I’m grateful for what I can capture with what I have. Photography is not always about having the perfect equipment. Sometimes, it is about having the curiosity to look closely and the patience to appreciate what is in front of us.

The tiny world is always there. We only need to pause, look down, and notice it.

Have a good day ahead.
