Spider Lily on a rainy day

I felt a bit lucky today.
The spider lily in the garden finally bloomed. I have been checking it for days, waiting for that moment when the bud would finally open, and today it decided to surprise me.

Of course, it chose a rainy day.

Because of the rain, the flower looked slightly bent, the long petals drooping a little under the weight of the water. But somehow it still looked beautiful. The raindrops were resting gently along the petals, like tiny beads of crystal arranged in their own pattern. Every droplet followed the curve of the spider lily’s thin arms, making the flower look delicate and dramatic at the same time.

I took a bunch of photos, focusing on those details. The lines of the petals, the way the drops clung to them, and the dark background all worked nicely together. I converted the images to black and white, which made the contrasts stronger, the flower brighter, and the raindrops more visible. It almost felt like a little sculpture made of light, water, and soft curves.

Still, I hope the sun comes out soon. The flower will look even better once it dries off and stretches fully, and I would love to see it in a healthier state. If the rain continues too long, the bloom might fade earlier than it should, and that would be a bit sad after waiting so patiently for it.

For now, I am just happy I got to see this spider lily at the right time and capture it the way it is, rain and all.

Have a good day ahead.
