Rain’s Quiet Gift to the Garden

Today’s heavy rain gave me another reason to look closely at the garden. I will admit that I am not always happy when the rain arrives. It can make the surroundings gloomy, interrupt plans, and make going outside more difficult. Still, I know that rain also brings something important, especially to the plants around us.

After the rain slowed down, I went outside and noticed how fresh the leaves looked. The water droplets were resting on their surfaces, some large and round while others were tiny and scattered. They reflected the little light that remained and made the leaves look more detailed than usual. In black and white, the droplets became even more noticeable because of the contrast between the wet leaves and the dark background.

I took several photos before the water disappeared. These small moments do not last very long. A slight breeze can move the leaves, and the droplets can fall at any time. That is one reason photography feels meaningful to me. It allows me to preserve something simple before it changes.

Although I do not like heavy rain so much, I am still thankful for what it brings. Our garden receives the water it needs, the plants appear healthier, and I get another opportunity to find interesting subjects for my photography. Sometimes, the things that inconvenience us can also offer something beautiful when we take the time to look at them from another angle.

Today’s rain may have darkened the sky, but it also added life, texture, and quiet beauty to the garden. I am glad I was able to capture a few of those details and share them through these photos.

Have a good day ahead.
