Gumamela in the Morning

avatar

This morning’s walk felt extra special because the gumamela had already bloomed, and seeing it like that instantly made me happy. I do not get to witness flowers blooming every day, so moments like this feel a little more meaningful to me. It was one of those simple sights that can quietly brighten the morning and make the day begin on a much lighter note.

Of course, I could not let the moment pass without taking photos. The flower looked beautiful from every angle, and even in black and white, its softness and shape still stood out so well. The petals looked delicate, while the long stamen gave it that graceful, familiar character that makes gumamela so lovely to photograph. It reminded me again why I enjoy monochrome photography so much. Even without color, the beauty remains, sometimes even becoming more soulful and expressive.

What made this morning special was not only the flower itself, but also the feeling that came with it. A blooming flower can be such a small thing, yet it can change the mood of the whole morning. I think that is one of the reasons I treasure these walks. They help me notice small moments that might otherwise be ignored. And when I notice them, I feel more connected to life around me.

Photography has taught me that beauty can be found in everyday things, as long as we take the time to look. A simple walk, a blooming flower, and a quiet morning can already become something memorable. That is enough to make an ordinary day feel special. In many ways, these are the moments that stay with me the longest.

Have a good day ahead!
