Gentle Blooms on a Rainy Morning
The blue pea flowers are already blooming again, and it honestly makes me happy.

Our garden vines usually look a bit boring, just a mess of leaves climbing and stretching wherever they can. But once these flowers show up, everything changes. Suddenly the vines feel intentional, like they were made to be looked at instead of ignored. It’s a small thing, but it makes the whole corner of the garden feel nicer.
It’s raining again this morning, and I won’t lie, it’s annoying. The sky is dull, the ground is wet, and going out feels like a chore. But at least there’s something beautiful waiting outside, so I will be fine. I took that as my excuse to step into the garden anyway, even if only for a few minutes, and capture what I could.
What I really like about the blue pea flower is the shape. It looks gentle, almost soft, like it’s folding into itself. In black and white, the delicate lines and wrinkles on the petals become more obvious. The flower feels quieter this way, less about the color and more about texture, form, and how it hangs from the vine like a small lantern. I also included some leaves in the set because I like the contrast between the smooth petals and the layered, overlapping greens, even when they are translated into gray tones.
Another reason I love this plant is that it’s not just pretty. It can be used for cooking too. If we get enough flowers to harvest, I’d really like to try using them, maybe in tea or something simple, and hopefully that happens soon.
For now, I’m just grateful they’re here. Rain or not, they made today feel lighter.
Have a good day ahead.
