Flowers for a Gloomy Day
This morning the rain is pouring non stop.
The sky is heavy, the light is flat, and everything outside looks a bit dull and sleepy. It feels completely different from last weekend, when the sun was bright and the air felt light and cheerful.

But that is how the weather works, it finds its own way to balance things. If we had only sunshine, we would probably miss mornings like this.
I was actually in the mood to go out and take fresh photos today. Instead I had to stay inside the house, so I opened my folder and revisited some images I took earlier this week. I realized that my favorites are all flowers, so I want to share them here.
In these photos, each flower has its own quiet personality. One stands small yet confident in the middle of dark leaves. Another is more detailed, with tiny stamens reaching out like sparkles. There is a cluster of delicate blooms that look like they are softly talking to each other, and finally a larger flower that feels almost dramatic, as if it is performing on a small garden stage.
I converted them to black and white to match the mood of today’s weather. Without the distraction of color, the textures and shapes become more visible, the petals, veins and shadows show up more clearly. Even though it is gloomy outside, these flowers still feel calm and beautiful.
For now, I will just enjoy this rainy morning with old photos and a warm drink.
Have a good day ahead, and thank you for viewing my post.
