Finding Art at the Crosswalk

avatar

Here’s another attempt at having fun during my walk, and I love how this set turned out. I was just waiting at the pedestrian crossing for the green man sign, and I started looking down instead of looking ahead. It’s funny how the most ordinary places can suddenly feel like a little photo studio when you pay attention.

For me, anything can be a subject. It really depends on how we frame it, what angle we choose, and how we use light and shadow to make something “normal” look more interesting than it actually is.

The road markings caught my eye first, rough asphalt, bold white shapes, and that simple contrast that instantly feels dramatic in black and white. Then I noticed the tactile paving with all those raised circles. It’s such a repetitive pattern, but the way the lines cut across the frame makes it feel almost like abstract art.

I also took a closer shot of the crossing button. It’s a small object we press without thinking, but up close you can see textures, wear, and tiny details that tell a story of everyday movement. And my favorite might be the reflection, there’s something nostalgic about seeing a silhouette trapped inside a worn surface, like a quiet reminder that we’re always passing through moments.

Hope you guys are having a great time wherever you are. Have a good day ahead.
