After the Rain shots for my #project365
A few minutes ago, I stepped out for a short walk with one simple goal, to find something worth adding to my #project365 in black and white. This little daily ritual has become quietly transformative for me. Setting aside time for creativity keeps me grounded, and carrying a camera turns an ordinary walk into a small hunt for stories and textures.
Early this morning it rained, which, for me, is perfect timing. Nature always looks renewed after a downpour. Leaves hold tiny worlds on their surface, flowers soften, and fungi seem to appear from nowhere. Today’s set reflects that mood, a collage of small discoveries that felt bigger the closer I looked.
The raindrops clinging to the leaves made the veins glow with detail, each bead catching light just enough to give shape and rhythm. The single flower, still damp, stood out like a quiet voice in a crowded scene. And the fungi along the tree base, layered, patient, and oddly elegant, offered those rich textures that black and white loves so much. In color, these moments might be pleasant. In monochrome, they become tactile. Contrast tightens the composition, and the eye lingers on edges, shadows, and the way moisture darkens everything it touches.
That’s why I enjoy shooting right after rain. It’s not just about reflections or shine, it’s how water deepens tones and reveals form. This project is also a record of these walks, a reminder that the ordinary is often enough when we pay attention.
