After the Rain

This morning I woke up to find the world washed clean, it must have rained hard before dawn, I clearly slept like a rock 🤣. When I stepped outside, the first thing that caught my eye was how the leaves were holding hundreds of tiny raindrops, like a new constellation. I decided to skip my usual window frame presentation today and give the droplets their own moment.

These scenes always feel soothing. In black and white, the beads of water become little highlights that trace the curve of each leaf. Without color distracting the eye, you can notice the textures, the fine veins, the soft edges, and the way light sits gently on the surface before sliding off. It’s simple, but it’s the kind of simplicity that relaxes the mind.

I like working with this kind of subject because it teaches patience. You have to move slowly, watch your angles, and wait for the right shimmer. Sometimes I push the contrast a bit to let the bright tones pop while keeping the background slightly darker. That way the droplets stay crisp and the leaves feel more sculpted.

Maybe that’s why I enjoy mornings like this, they remind me that quiet beauty often appears after the noise has passed. The rain does its work, and what’s left are small, peaceful details for anyone willing to pause and look.

I hope these photos bring a little calm to your day too. If you also woke up to rain, maybe take a moment to step outside and notice what it left behind. Little things like these make everyday life feel new again. Wishing everyone a great day ahead!
