Picture a day: seagull on a bridge

I live quite close to the cost of the Netherlands, so there are a lot of seagulls here. They usually fly around the mall where there is always some food to find. This seagull was on the handrail of a bridge and just sat there when I came closer.
I thought it was wounded or sick, but when I came even closer after I took this photo it took off.

In the background you see an old windmill.
In the past it was used to pump water from low-lying areas to the canal. At the moment it's just maintained for its historic value.
The windmill was originally built in 1661. In 1884, it was replaced by a steam-driven pump after 200 years of use.
It's crazy when you think this windmill is over 360 years old.

Photographing is my passion. Although I like photography in general, nature photography is one of my favourite subjects. I often go out with my camera for a hike to capture the beauty of nature.
I would love to read what you think of my photos in the comments.

Yes, absolutely I like photography. all my post is about writing and are accompanied by my own photograph

What you think of my photos ?

I knew that the Netherlands is where the big windmills are, but here I got the smaller ones. What's special to me is that the windmill is located right in the middle of the pond, making it even more exotic. It's even more interesting because the seemingly dry tree becomes a unique background and makes the windmill look even more contrasting. So, yes I love it

Cool! Do you like photography contests as well? Then you should really check out my weekly overview post of Hive's photography contests.

The tree is leafless because it is winter over here. It's certainly not dry since it rains a lot over here in autumn/winter. Today as well 😥

Thanks for visiting!
