Curating with a different focus

Photography on Hive
As you might know, photography is one hobbies. And a cool thing about Hive is that there are quite a lot of talented photographers sharing their posts. I'm following quite a lot of them.
I'm using a large part of my voting power to upvote photography content on Hive. I even created a dedicated photography list on PeakD to make curating easier for myself.

High KE
Recently I started paying more attention to KE scores. For people who are unfamiliar with it; KE is a metric that shows the total all-time earned rewards of an account compared to the current stake. This shows if an account powers up or extracts more hive.
I know KE can be a sensitive topic. Everyone decides for themselves what to do with their rewards. I understand that some users also need the income.
Still, I noticed that quite a few photography accounts with high rewards also have very high KE values. KE scores above 50 are definitely not rare.

Changing my voting habits
As everyone can decide what they can do with their rewards, everyone can also decide what content to upvote. So I have decided to clean up my photography list a bit. I removed several photographers from my photographers list that, in my eyes, have a very high KE score.
Will this change Hive? Probably not because my upvote isn't that massive. But I can spend my voting power on other content.
I've decided to use more voting power to support people who are new on Hive and trying to grow their account. As you might have seen in my recent blog about improving user retention, newly onboarded users have a better retention rates if they receive some small upvotes on their first posts.

Thanks for reading.
I am curious how other people approach curation on Hive. Do you look at account stats and make decisions what to upvote on that? Feel free to share your thoughts, even if you disagree with me.

Those are some crazy KE, mine is under 1 (0.58 last time I checked).
Indeed. Mine is under 1 too. I don't mind it being over 1, but these amounts are really high.
Good for you being the change you want to see. I hope others follow suit, because the takers can destroy the Hive economy if they are allowed to flourish. The trend in the image has been ongoing for some time and it cannot be sustained long term

I hope everyone uses his or her stake in positive ways for Hive.
Where did you take that screenshot? That's interesting information!

Thanks!
I was already following that account, but set a notification on new posts of that account now.
