A wednesdaywalk through some local parks

Today I worked from home. And since I miss the exercise of my bicycle rides to and from work I always try to go for a walk. And it was a perfect day, since it made my walk a #wednesdaywalk.

I usually go for a small 3 kilometer walk around the area that takes me through a couple of parks.
The parks are really nice at the moment. Although the peak is over, some flowers are still nicely in bloom.
Like these beautifully bright rhododendron bush that is standing next to the water.

And things are blooming even in the water as well. These water lilies really brighten up the ditches.

And there was even more in the water. This mother duck and her three ducklings were looking for food. I used to see quite a lot of ducklings in the past, but I tend to see more and more geese and goslings nowadays. I wonder if the increase of geese has something to do with seeing less ducklings. I hope it doesn't.

By the waterside I also found some really unusual, but nice flowers. I had to look up the species and it seems to be a purple iris, but I like the other name better: bearded iris

A bit further along the route I also spotted a white version of it. This flower really has some elegant looking petals.

I finished my round with a walk in a more wooded park. It was really nice and quiet. Usually I always spot a lot of people walking their dogs, but not today.

After a half our I had recharged my battery enough to get back to work.

The flower blooms next to the water look so lovely. The ducks are enjoying the moment too on this day with fine weather. All those lovely flowers along the way make the walk even more wonderful. Looking at the beautiful scenery outside uplifted your mood.

such a nice walk in a beautiful area
We have a big storm coming in I think it will wipe out a lot of the spring flowers here sadly

Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk Have a great day

I wish we could have such parks around here. As the climate here in Spain is dry, the local parks don't usually have such lush vegetation

That's a pity. I did have seen some green parks in Spain. Although that was in the Northern part in San Sebastian. But some cities have drainage systems that keep their parks green.

Nice walk!
I must make exercises, take a walk, a bike ride but it has been so cold to me here at Brasilia, that a spend all day at home, at work or both.

You can dress up for the cold 👊
And a firm walk gets you warm too.
I only skip walking when it rains 😜

🧐 You've already got me thinking of geese and ducks as rivals. But I doubt that in a neighbourhood as beautiful, peaceful and flowery as it looks there are gangs and skirmishes. 😉

There might not be gangs killing each other, but they do eat the same food. And geese eat a bit more than ducks.

Gosh, those irises are in bloom early, mine are only just poking through.

For our climate they are right on time. It has been quite warm and sunny in April/May.
But you still have some flowers to come then!

These flowers are beautiful. We used to grow them in our garden. I forget the name 😅

I also had to look them up. I use ChatGPT for this nowadays. It can determine them immediately. Does süsen ring a bell?
