Vipera berus
Harilik rästik (Vipera berus)
This is the European viper, and it is a venomous snake, the snakes are small but also fast. At the end of this summer, I have met them several times on the road, and some have even been so small that you don't even notice that they are on the road.
But luckily I'm used to always looking at my feet when I'm walking, and because of that, it doesn't get in the way of my camera. But when I use my small 16-50 mm kit lens, then know this I must go very close to get this photos... some fill look me very big eyes if they see how close I get sometimes :)) there are only a few more weeks left and they all go to sleep, so when the first severe frost is out they are quickly go in winter sleep.
I was use here my Sony NEX- 5T

😂 so tiny!!! In your initial photos I was under the impression that this was a great serpent. But he is great in his own tiny way.
Big things start what small things ... it can be small, but it is also dangerous and poisonous.
