Death is always waiting around the corner

This morning while walking I found this dead bird right on my path, it looks like no one has eaten it or torn it or beaten it. The bird is freshly dead, so there aren't even many cars moving around where a bird can fly into a car window unexpectedly, but it was on the ground and as if freshly dead. It feels like death was just waiting behind a bush and struck it down from the sky. I had no choice but to capture it with a camera and hope that the fox would come after me and get a fresh bite, since the fox also moves along the same path every morning and evening.
