Morning in the woods
The constant change of the scenery is the most obvious and anticipated characteristic of a road trip. And when you are in an island so diverse and so beautiful as Crete, every day can be a new experience!
This is the morning of September 14th, the second day of a trip that is still going on, through a constant flow of events and circumstances that has taken us beyond any planning. Life has its own way to make things moving and some times we are the things :)
We spent the night at a semi-mountainous place near Rethymno, one of the 6 major towns of Crete and the morning walk was a true delight! A friend that lives nearby suggested this place and he was so right. It isn't any kind of tourist attraction and it was almost impossible to find it on our own. The parts of farm land popping up in a woodsy scenery, was just amazing! And even though it felt like a wild forest, it had at the same time, the softness of a cultivated field!
Probably for the people that live around there, this is not something extraordinary but for us, coming from the other side of the island and a completely different scenery, it was a great walk and just the place we needed before we continue our little adventure!

And as I so often do, I couldn't stop myself from taking a closer look (and a few closer shots) of the little wonders of nature that are all over as a constant reminder that the circle of life never stops!

Photos with bokeh effect are some of my favorites and you really have a few great ones in here. Nature is limitless when it comes to photography subjects.
Thank you, I am glad you like them! Nature is truly limitless and I have taken advantage of her (photographically) so many times :)

The crocuses against the background of these so mystical-looking trees create a scene out of a fairy tale. And no wonder, since Crete is just a mystical island for me, which has been on my must-visit-list for a long time, but I haven't had the chance to visit it yet!
A wonderful walk! 😊
Thank you very much!
I hope you'll have the chance to visit Crete soon enough. You are not so far away after all :)

Yes, this is a lovely place and it was a perfect beginning for our trip :)
I completely agree with you. Both with the lovely place and the perfect beginning of your trip. Well, for me it would be perfect also as a beginning, middle and end the of any journey :)
it looks like a forest from the fairytale! especially these old trees with curvy branches
I adore forests, they have so powerful energy, and we can really be "recharged" there
Yes, forests are very powerful and it is a shame not to realise what a great support they can give us.
do you have your favourite tree for hugging? Have you ever tried hugging with trees? It's so powerful!
I wouldn't call myself a tree-huger but when I work at the olive grove I, sometimes, put my arms around an old olive tree and it helps me rest and continue my day!
What a wonderful place and start to your adventure.
Yes it is a lovely place and finding it was truly unexpected!
Wow, in nature beauty is everywhere, thank you for those beautiful pictures.
