Recovery Day 23 - Mission 80... my training diary entry from June 29 2026

(Here’s another photo from our walk last Saturday. We would have liked to see more stretches like this one, where the trees provided at least a little shade.)
Hi Actifitters,
since I strained the muscles that are currently healing during an unplanned bit of scrambling along the shore of the swimming lake on Saturday, I am feeling slight pain again when walking. For this reason, I am giving myself some more rest this week and limiting myself to the essentials. I simply want to get back to full fitness and resume my cycling training. That is my top priority.
Since I always need a challenge to work on, I decided yesterday to wage war on a few extra kilos. Over the past few months, I’ve indulged a bit too often and gained nearly 10 kilos. The scale showed exactly 90 kilos today, and at 1.81 meters tall, I’d like to get down to 80 kilos. So, today I’m kicking off "Mission 80." There’s no deadline or anything like that. I simply want to reach my goal slowly, healthily, and — above all — sustainably.
Today, I’m going to take care of a few household tasks I’ve been putting off for a few days. These include grocery shopping, dropping off the glass recycling, doing the laundry, and generally bringing a bit of order to my daily routine — because only when your surroundings are tidy can you create a sense of order within yourself.
