Cycling + long walk = very active day... my training diary entry from May 16 2026

(During our walk yesterday, we repeatedly came across vast quantities of these mushrooms. According to Google Lens, they are sulfur shelf mushrooms—also known as "chicken of the woods.")
Hi Actifitters,
after spending almost all of Friday on the sofa, yesterday was the exact opposite.
Early in the morning, I swung my well-rested body onto my bike and tackled the "Climb of the Week" that was still outstanding. That meant 600 meters of elevation gain over a distance of 10 kilometers.
I must say, I found it surprisingly easy. Perhaps I should take a rest day more often.
Here are some numbers regarding the Climb of the Week:

Elevetaion gain - 611 m
Average speed - 18.3 km/h
Maximum speed - 84.7 km/h
Average power output - 189 watts
Maximum power output - 596 watts
Average heart rate - 128 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 166 bpm
Average cadence - 84
Maximum cadence - 110
After that, we headed out to visit a festival a few towns away. We arrived after 15.4 kilometers and treated ourselves to some delicious food and a beer or two.
All in all, yesterday was truly a very nice and active day.
Today, I will only do my mandatory steps and a little core stability training. There isn't time for anything more, as I'm expecting visitors soon.
