Nature is flaunting its most beautiful side now that summer has arrived. When I'm out with my camera, there are always times that especially move me. Last week I was fortunate enough to see and capture images of a stork in a sunlit meadow. Always exciting to see these lovely birds in their native surroundings.

Storks are actively raising their young in early July. Often observed slinking across grasslands and fields, constantly looking for insects, mice, or frogs to feed their voracious beaks in the nest. Their elegant walk and concentrated stare provide a stunning view as they travel across the high grass. Their white feathers and red beaks contrast wonderfully with the warm colors of the meadow, further enhanced by the sunlight.

Though we savor midsummer, our feathered friends will soon be beginning their following big adventure. It may appear amazing, yet the storks are little by little abandoning us. As early as mid- to late August, the first storks begin their arduous southward voyage to spend the winter. It is an amazing phenomena that they journey thousands of kilometers annually to seek food in warmer climates and avoid the winter here.

These pictures are a little homage to these amazing long-distance fliers and, at the same time, lovely recollections of an afternoon spent outside. They help us to appreciate the swiftness of time and the necessity of always appreciating the beauty of nature.
Let's enjoy nature's brilliance!🙃✌️
