Mushrooms in May? Nature knows no calendar.
(Edited)
Just yesterday, while walking in the woods, maybe with the hope of getting as far away from the noise, the people, the junk, I stumbled across a colony of mushrooms — hidden. Quietly living within the moss, leaves and shadows, like they were guarding a secret of the woods. I stood and watched, and listened.
For so long I thought mushrooms only appeared in the autumn. 🧡 That's what we say, we know that. But nature, she isn't on our wavelength. She is revealing herself in her own time, in her own way, and if we slow down long enough we can start to hear her soft signals...in every leaf, every note of a bird's call, every gust of wind through the trees.
These mushrooms are likely a family of Coprinellus mushrooms - paper thin, white, short lives, and completely harmless. While they are not safe to consume, they aren't meant to be picked. Just appreciated. Respected. Witnessed.
Every walk in the woods, is a chance to come back to yourself. A chance to reconnect with something deeper, something older, something more real. I created my channel for exactly this feeling, and for these gentle reminders that we belong to nature, and nature belongs to us. 🌲🤍
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and feel into this moment with me.
Wishing you a wonderful Weekend!🙃✌️
