Today I would like to take you on another small photographic adventure. This time, I was incredibly fortunate to capture nothing less than a true king of the air: a white stork. I've always been fascinated by these beautiful birds, and it was beautiful to see them foraging in their natural environment.

I was out in nature, and I suddenly spotted them - oh and they are majestic, but so calm, stalking through the long grass. At first, the distance was not too great, which of course made me very happy. Sometimes you just get lucky where wildlife does not disappear, like when you suddenly see them.

But anyone who has tried to photograph or simply observe wildlife knows that wildlife is all about caution. Although the distance to start with was already great, I quickly realised that the stork, almost undetectably, repeatedly moved a few steps away from me. It is fascinating to see how they always hold a minimum distance to us people. It is a continuous silent communication from afar, where you just realize that respect and cautiousness are priorities. And you can't blame them because we are in their territory and they are the entities of these beautiful places.

The pictures I am sharing with you today illustrate just these situations. You can see the stork repeatedly dipping its long beak into the tall grass. There was no doubt that it was hunting. These fields are certainly a treasure chest for storks; their diet includes small rodents, insects, frogs, and even earthworms. It was amazing to note the focus and patience shown when it searched through the grass. Each step, each move of its head, was a focused search for food. It would sometimes remain still and then strike like lightning. Once again, this illustrates how well adapted these animals are to their environment and hunting strategy.

I hope you enjoy these photos of the stork as much as I did.
See you next time and take care!🙃✌️
