Golden Echoes

Do you know how it feels to meet an old friend again? This happens to me quite often when I have my camera ready, and all of a sudden one of those beautiful birds appears that I often reflect. Today is one of those days, because the Yellowhammer has come through again!

I'm grateful to see this wonderful bird repeatedly in our area. It's also one of my favorite subjects. This time I was lucky enough to see it again in a special light, perched on the rather bare branches of a tree covered in moss and lichen. I always find it fascinating how the bright yellow of the yellowhammer contrasts with the leaves above and the usually drab background of a dead forest in winter.

In some of the images you may be able to see that it has food, an insect in its beak. This shows how busy these little guys are, especially at this time of year, in spring, as breeding season begins. There is a lot of food to collect for their young. It was a privilege to witness and capture moments in nature like this up close.

Whenever I see a yellowhammer it reminds me of the beauty that surrounds us, if only we take a closer look. It is a true pleasure to share my observations and photos with you. I hope you enjoyed them.🙃✌️

The little birdie sure knew how to pick a place as the lichen is the same color as her feathers :)
