Having a garden at home opens up a whole world of possibilities for bugs. Recently, we’ve found some caterpillars on the damiana plants—which, to tell the truth, these plants have spread all over my garden. I never thought that a little flower Mathias gave my mother would turn into a never-ending battle to keep my garden from being overrun by this plant. We’ve certainly had to spray them, since the number of caterpillars has gotten so bad that the plant leaves look like skeletons. And yes, we know Halloween is coming, but we don’t want those “decorations” just yet. However, even though we’ve sprayed them, the caterpillars keep showing up. But what can we do? The butterflies they come from have taken over my garden without paying a penny.
And yes, you can feel the love in the air, and I’ve noticed these beautiful—though quite passionate—Clara Organillo Butterflies mating all over the garden. Getting some decent photos of them hasn’t been easy, and I wasn’t about to intrude too much on such a private matter—though “private” isn’t really the right word for it; they were out in broad daylight, fully engaged in their reproductive activities, regardless of who was around them. This happened a few days ago.
This morning, while taking my usual morning stroll through the garden, I realized that I’ve been witnessing almost the entire life cycle of this little friend. Her chrysalises, with their futuristic designs, can be found on various plants in my garden. I couldn’t help but grab my phone and take some pictures of them. I won’t keep spraying them anymore; I think that, in the end, I’m just poisoning my plants, and they’ll keep coming back and completing their life cycle here. After all, it’s just a season—not the whole year—and besides, there are plenty of tiger spiders that can keep their population in check. At the end of the day, I don’t know which of the two is worse, hahaha
These butterflies are naturally drawn to flowers and passion fruit plants; however, at my house, they’ve fallen in love with the poor damiana plant. This is probably some kind of biological revenge—the damiana wanted to take over my garden, and now these pale-colored little creatures want to take over it, hahaha. Nature is definitely wonderful, and I’m grateful to be able to witness this marvel—after all, these are the things that help me set aside for a while all the craziness we’re going through these days.

Tener un jardín en casa, representa la opción de un mundo abierto de posibilidades para bichos en él, recientemente hemos encontrado algunas orugas en las plantas de Damiana, que a decir verdad, estas plantas se han regado por toda la extensión de mi jardín, nunca pensé que una pequeña flor que Mathias le regalo a mi madre, se convertiría en una pelea eterna para que mi jardín no estuviera invadido por esta planta, ciertamente, hemos tenido que fumigar las mismas, pues la cantidad de orugas ha llegado al punto de dejar las hojas de las plantas, como unos esqueletos, y si, sabemos que se acerca Halloween, pero no queremos esas decoraciones aun, sin embargo, y aunque se ha fumigado, continúan apareciendo las orugas, pero como no hacerlo si las Mariposas de donde provienen, me han tomado el jardín de Motel, sin pagar un centavo.
Y si, el amor se siente en el ambiente, y he podido notar a estas bellas, aunque calientes Mariposas Organillo Clara, copulando por todo el jardín, hacerle unas fotografías decentes no ha sido fácil, tampoco me iba a entrometer tanto en un asunto tan privado, aunque decirle privado, no le va, estaban a plena luz del mediodía en plena faena reproductiva, sin importar quien estuviera a su al rededor, esto sucedió hace unos días.
Esta mañana mientras daba mi respectiva vuelta matutina por el jardín me di cuenta, que he estado presenciando casi por completo el ciclo vital de esta amiguita, sus crisálidas con diseños futuristas se pueden encontrar en diversas plantas de mi jardín, no pude hacer más, que buscar mi teléfono y hacerles unas fotografías, no seguiré fumigándolas, creo que al final no estoy más que envenenando mis plantas y ellas seguirán llegando y cumpliendo su ciclo por aquí, después de todo, es solo una época, no es todo el año, además hay suficientes arañas tigre, que pueden regular su población, al final del cuento no sé cuál de las dos es peor, jajaja
Estas mariposas por naturaleza son amantes de las flores y plantas de Maracuyá o parchita, sin embargo, en mi casa se han enamorado de la pobre planta de damiana, probablemente esto sea un tipo de venganza biológica, la damiana quería invadir mi jardín, ahora estas organillo clara, quieren invadirlas a ellas jajaja, definitivamente la naturaleza es maravillosa, y agradezco poder observar esta maravilla, pues, son las cosas que me hacen dejar un rato de lado tantas locuras que vivimos actualmente.
