Caterpillar of Euptoieta hegesia or Mexican fritillary [EN] // [ES]
Hello, hello, I haven't been here for a while! There are insects that, besides being fascinating, become terrifying for some, as in this case, my mother has an inexplicable panic, about any kind of worms, no matter if they tell her that these are larvae or caterpillars of a beautiful butterfly, for her they are worms, and seeing that they are destroying her plants causes in her an even greater terror. Luckily the plant with which these caterpillars of Euptoieta hegesia or Mexican fritillary, is the damiana, which is not one of my mother's favorites, but she is delighted with the flowers that daily adorn the entrance of the house, we have noticed that every day there are more leaves eaten, however, we did not see who were the culprits, until this morning I discovered this little friend sunbathing.
The Mexican Fritillary uses only 4 plants as hosts and one of these is the Damiana, it is not that I have something against them, it is that I do not like the screams of my mother every time she finds a little worm hahaha, I must say that these caterpillars are quite cunning, as I mentioned before, they do not let themselves be seen, we have checked the plant very well and found nothing, and suddenly without further ado, we pass by, on one side, and there is a larva, hahaha I feel mocked by them.
I can't deny that, although that vibrant red color causes me a bit of tension, because usually those colors in nature, announce danger, it is really beautiful this caterpillar, and I look forward to seeing some of these butterflies emerge from their chrysalises, this kind of thing is certainly something majestic.

¡Hola, hola, rato sin pasar por aquí! Hay insectos que, además de fascinantes, llegan a ser terroríficos para algunos, como en este caso, a mi madre le da un pánico inexplicable, cualquier clase de gusanos, no importa que le digan que estos son larvas u orugas de una hermosa mariposa, para ella son gusanos, y ver que están acabando con sus plantas causa en ella un terror aún mayor. Por suerte la planta con la que estas orugas de Euptoieta hegesia o fritillary mexicana, es la damiana, que dentro de todo no es de las favoritas de mi madre, pero sí está encantada con las flores que a diario adornan la entrada de la casa, nos hemos percatado de que cada día hay más hojas comidas, sin embargo, no veíamos quienes eran los causantes, hasta que esta mañana he descubierto esta amiguita tomando el sol.
Y es que, la Fritillary mexicana, usa solo 4 plantas como hospedaje y una de estas es la Damiana, y no es que tenga algo en contra de ellas, es que no me gustan los gritos de mi madre cada vez que encuentra un gusanito jajaja, debo decir, que estas orugas son bastante astutas, pues como les mencione antes, no se dejan ver, hemos revisado la planta muy bien y no encontramos nada, y de repente sin más, pasamos, por un lado, y hay una larva, jajaja me siento burlada por ellas.
No puedo negar que, aunque ese vibrante color rojo me causa un poco de tensión, pues por lo general esos colores en la naturaleza, anuncian peligro, es realmente hermosa esta oruga, y espero con ansias poder ver algunas de estas mariposas emerger de sus crisálidas, este tipo de cosas son sin duda, algo majestuoso.

It's fascinating to see caterpillars, I love it. Especially when they turn into butterflies and undermine your garden with their beauty
I love butterflies, but I hate how caterpillars can be able to devour plants hahaha, a while back I had some milkweed plants, which have beautiful flowers but the amount of caterpillars it attracted was creepy hahahahahaha
Tu mamá y Jhoxiris son iguales, ni siquiera en su versión mariposa que es la más hermosa acepta este insecto. Yo creo que soy más como tú, me gusta admirar de lejos, sobretodo con colores tan llamativos como este, pero wow, sí que es muy pequeño ese gusano, no sé cómo lo viste entre tanto verde jajajaja...
Jajaja a mi me dan un poco de grima, pero al menos puedo acercarme a ellos, lo vi de casualidad, porque me tienen la pobre matita descuartizada y no se ven los muerganos.
Excelente tonalidad de colores, me gusta mucho como resalta el verde de las hojas, no soy experto pero creo que debe ser por buena iluminación.
En el jardín pocas veces las fotografías salen mal jajaja, la luz natural casi siempre ayuda mucho, aunque hay días que el sol no colabora, y lo que me ayudo a verlo entre tanto verde fue ese color que parecía un resaltador jajajaja
