Lungau Hut Weekend
By now you might have noticed: I like to spend my weekends hiking and sleeping in mountain huts. Two weeks ago, I explored a region I've never been to in Austria, the "Lungau". And what can I say, it was beautiful!
We took a rather short and chill hike up on Friday to Franz-Fischer-Hütte, the first fully vegetarian mountain hut in the European Alps (most traditional mountain dishes contain meat). And not only was the food delicious up there, the hut was also situated quite nicely within the mountains with a lake close by.
Unfortunately, sunset and sunrise were pretty unspectacular. Next day, we had a bit of rain on the way to the next hut but after we arrived, it was sunny for the rest of the day. This hut was also very close to a lake, which always makes for a nice scenery.
And here I got a bit luckier with golden hour and the morning light on our 3rd and last day!
We started our hike directly after sunrise because we had a long day ahead. Before descending, we hiked along this ridge and the view of the surrounding mountains was really nice even though the light was quite harsh very soon.
And after we hit this little peak, we went back down to the valley.
I hope you liked this post and I'm always looking forward to read your feedback. Cheers!
