This weekend I witnessed a a white Stork that was eating a snake right in front of my eyes. Stefan and I were sitting at the hide and watching birds in Lower Austria when a white stork landed in front of us and found a snake in the high grass. It took the snake to the lower grass and ate it there. I managed to get a video and some pictures from this occurrence and I am very grateful that I was able to see it from so close. This was one of the highlights of this years trip to Lower Austria and even though I also managed to take a lot of pictures of other birds and animals this will be probably the most memorable moments of the trip.
And I did not only take some pictures but also have some video footage of this event. Luckily it took a while for the bird to eat the snake and I was thoughtful enough to also take a video of this event.
