Some Smartphone Pictures of a butterfly

The european peacock butterfly is one of the most common butterflies in my garden. When I was enjoying some nice time in my garden the other day, this butterfly visited my "butterfly Bush" and I could take some pictures with my Smartphone.

It is so often the Case that I dont have time to take my camera and since the only camera I have with me is my Smartphone I use it for my Photography more and Note often.

That butterfly bush is a magnet, so it’s no surprise a peacock dropped by while you were relaxing. Grabbing the phone when the moment pops up is the winning move, since these visitors never wait. Do you stick with the stock camera or use a manual or macro app on your phone? I’ve found a quick tap-to-lock focus helps, but I’d love to know what works for you.

Nice, the Xiaomi stock app is pretty capable. Long press to lock focus and exposure when the butterfly settles, and try burst mode to catch a sharp frame. If your app has Pro mode, slide manual focus toward the little flower icon or toggle the macro lens if your model has it. Nudging exposure down a bit can keep the wing colors from blowing out in bright sun.

Anytime! If you want to push it a bit further, turn on the grid for steadier framing and keep ISO low in Pro mode for cleaner shots. A cheap clip-on macro lens can be fun for close-ups. Share the next butterfly, I’d love to see it.
