Owl flew against my fathers window

Today I spent my time at my fathers place and I met my sisters and the second part of my family. My brother and his girlfriend also were there. We enjoyed some nice time in the garden and unfortunately I witnessed when this Owl flew against a window. Eventhough it was very beautiful and I really liked it a lot to see it so close I felt very sorry for the bird. We looked up what to do in this case and were a bit worried at the beginning but after some minutes the owl flew off to a nearby tree without any signs of injury. We called a nearby bird sanctuary but since the bird flew off again they couldn't do anything. My father will further observe the tree where it flew to and hopefully the bird is OK.

Seeing an Owl so close was an Highlight for me nevertheless. I hope the bird is OK and maybe shows up again under different circumstances. I really hope the bird is Ok.

Wow, so lucky for you to be there and see that! Also hope it's not injured, I've seen a few things folks do to reduce this happening if it is a common thing. Not sure which ones work or not, so will let you figure that out.

Yes I hope it is ok, but because it flew away it might only had a dizzy head for some time.

It looks okay, and if it could fly, then no bones are broken. Over here we put stickers on the glass, to prevent this. But @ksteem is right, as what works for us might not do so at your end. Maybe ask the bird sanctuary for their advice?
A lovely photo.

I called the bird sanctuary and they would have picked it up if it stayed for longer time "dizzy". But now I hope everything is fine.

Oh yes, I read it in your post. What I meant is that you can cand ask the bird place what you can do to stop birds from flying into the window. !LOL

Handsome owl appears healthy, it flew almost immediately, should be OK. Wonderful opportunity to see the bird up close.

Birds cannot recognize glass, if clean with sunlight every so often one flies into it, very seldom found major injuries. Perhaps just lucky!

How wonderful that you spent time with your family.

I can't believe an owl landed on the window. What a shame. Luckily, everything is fine for the bird.

What a beautiful owl, and what beautiful shots.

Have a beautiful day, dear friend @florian-glechner
