My encounter with the hedgehog

At the cementary in Vienna I encountered a nice hedgehog that was enjoying the warm stones in the evening. It was lying flat on the stone and I assume it really enjoyed the warm stone and this was probably the reason it was lying there. To my surprise it was really not shy and after a while it was even wandering around and sniffed with his small nose to probably find some nice food there.

Like many of the first mammals, they have adapted to a nocturnal way of life, and therefore it is usually very difficult to take some pictures of it since it rarely can be seen during the day. There are only very few times when I saw an hedgehog and I have to admit that I only had one oppertunity to take pictures of the hedgehog the other times it was either to dark already or I didn't have my camera with me.

How cute!
I saw a hedgehog in our backyard last year. I wasn't quick enough to grab my camera though. Nice captures!

😁 This one catches my eye because I have a friend like that... on my bike helmet.
