Kingfisher - One of the most colorful birds here in Austria

There are only a few really colorful birds living here in Austria and one of these more colorful ones is the kingfisher. It has such a nice blue and orange color. These colors make it probably very vulnerable to predators that want to eat it. That why it is breeding in a cave and pretty fast. I had the luck that I already found this bird at several spots and could take pictures of it pretty close. The first pictures here are near the danube when there was very little water due to a power plant cycle. The tree stomp near the water was perfect for the bird to do it's fishing activity and perfect for me since I could lay down in front of the tree stomp and I was positive for the bird to come back and it did.

I also found these birds at the Inn River at several small creeks and I am always excited to see it. Without camouflage it is difficult to get close to the bird without it fleeing and since I only use camouflage in very seldom occasions I have to lay down quietly on the floor and be patient for some birds to come by close.
