goldfinch and chiffchaff in my garden

A goldfinch was jumping around in my garden when I returned from work today. It was nice to watch and it has some nice red and yellow colors in their fethers. There is a specific kind of magic in watching a goldfinch drop into a garden. They don’t just arrive; they flutter in like a splash of tossed sunlight, bringing a sudden burst of energy to an ordinary afternoon. They like that I still left some plants and seeds growing in my garden since I left a lot of flowers and shrubs in my garden that they eat of.

A chiffchaff visited the tree that is growing at my neightbour and sticking its branches over the fence. Unlike seed-loving finches, chiffchaffs are insectivores. You’ll often catch them picking tiny caterpillars off the undersides of leaves or hover-gleaning flies right out of the air.
