Colorful Bee Eaters in Lower Austria

The part of Lower Austria that Stefan and I visit now every year is a very good spot for some bird watching and bird photography. Not only the birds of prey but also smaller birds are numerous there. Another Highlight is the bee eaters colony there. These colorful birds can only be found on special places here in Austria and I am always happy when I see them. They are very colorful and often come in flocks. If you know a spot where these birds are breeding it is easier to get some nice pictures of them since they often hunt nearby and the trees and other elevated spots like the wires in a vineyard are great for them to sit and hunt.

I would not have expected them to be in Austria, i thought they were located in Afrika.

This is amazing! No wonder these birds are considered one of the most beautiful. You've managed to convey all the beauty.

Florian, these photos are absolutely breathtaking.... I love that you and Stefan make this a yearly tradition; there’s something so grounding about returning to the same quiet spot and noticing the little changes

That’s one of the coolest things about bird migration.... Every time brings a new mix depending on the weather and season. Austria’s like a flyway surprise each time. 🐦✨

Florian, I'm afraid I might need your assistance....i really need it
