Atardecer en Juan Griego, Isla de Margarita [ESP-ENG]

Hola, querida comunidad de Hive y amigos de @hivemargarita, espero que estén teniendo días muy productivos.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes de una tarde muy especial que viví hace poco en un rincón de nuestra hermosa isla que nunca deja de sorprenderme y es la hermosa Bahía de Juan Griego.

Resulta que mi hija Gabriela tenía una clase especial de danza lírica en la casa de la cultura y como la clase duraba dos horas y media, decidí aprovechar ese tiempo para contemplar ese hermoso lugar. Mientras ella bailaba, me fui a dar una vuelta por la bahia de Juan Griego, un espacio lleno de mucha historia donde se respira la verdadera esencia margariteña.

Temprano en la tarde, el paisaje era súper dinámico, pude ver a los niños de la zona bañándose en la playa, riendo y disfrutando del agua caribeña. El muelle y la orilla estaban adornados con los típicos barcos y lanchas de pescadores flotando de fondo y los pelícanos volaban cerca, cazando o simplemente descansando sobre las olas.

Caminar por ahí, pasar cerca del emblemático cañón histórico y sentir la brisa marina te desconecta de la rutina de una forma maravillosa. La playa se veía simplemente bella.

A medida que avanzaban las horas, el ambiente empezó a transformarse. Al finalizar la tarde y principios de la noche, la bahía se llena de una vida maravillosa. Mucha gente , tanto locales como visitantes, empieza a llegar, a sentarse en los muros de la bahía o en los banquitos de la plaza para hacer lo mismo que yo planeaba esperar el espectáculo del sol.

Busqué a Gabriela al terminar su clase y nos vinimos juntas a la bahía. Debo decirle que aunque he tenido la suerte de ver muchísimos atardeceres hermosos en Juan Griego, el de ese día fue muy bonito. No tengo palabras exactas para describir lo bien que se siente estar ahí. El cielo se pinto de unos colores impresionantes que se reflejaban en el mar, rodeados de los botes y la naturaleza.

Compartir ese momento de paz, silencio y contemplación con mi hija fue un regalo muy especial. De verdad que vale la pena cada segundo. Juan Griego tiene una energía única cuando cae el sol; ver a tantas personas unidas en el mismo lugar, simplemente admirando la belleza de la naturaleza, te recuerda lo afortunados que somos de vivir en este pedacito de paraiso.

Today I want to share with you a very special afternoon I experienced recently in a corner of our beautiful island that never ceases to amaze me: the beautiful Juan Griego Bay.

It turns out that my daughter Gabriela had a special lyrical dance class at the cultural center, and since the class lasted two and a half hours, I decided to use that time to take in the beauty of that place. While she was dancing, I went for a stroll around Juan Griego Bay, a place steeped in history where you can truly feel the essence of Margarita.

Early in the afternoon, the scene was incredibly lively; I could see local children swimming at the beach, laughing, and enjoying the Caribbean waters. The pier and shoreline were dotted with traditional fishing boats and small craft bobbing in the background, and pelicans flew nearby, hunting or simply resting on the waves.

Walking around there, passing by the iconic historic cannon, and feeling the sea breeze is a wonderful way to disconnect from your daily routine. The beach looked simply beautiful.

As the hours went by, the atmosphere began to change. In the late afternoon and early evening, the bay comes alive. Lots of people—both locals and visitors—start to arrive, sitting on the bay’s walls or on the benches in the plaza to do exactly what I had planned: wait for the sunset.

I met up with Gabriela after her class ended, and we went to the bay together. I have to say that even though I’ve been lucky enough to see many beautiful sunsets in Juan Griego, that day’s sunset was especially lovely. I don’t have the exact words to describe just how good it feels to be there. The sky was painted with stunning colors that reflected off the sea, surrounded by boats and nature.

Sharing that moment of peace, silence, and contemplation with my daughter was a very special gift. It’s truly worth every second. Juan Griego has a unique energy when the sun goes down; seeing so many people gathered in the same place, simply admiring the beauty of nature, reminds you how lucky we are to live in this little piece of paradise.
