The power of crafts to entertain children.

Hello hivians. I hope you had a great weekend. For my part, I have spent it as a family working in the garden now that summer is over. These days it's time to collect the last fruits such as tomatoes, peppers or beans and prepare the garden for the winter crops that I will plant next week. Then it will be the turn of the cabbages, peas or beans.

But today's post is not about home agriculture. In order to work calmly in the garden I have to keep my two little hooligans entertained. Which are useful when it comes to picking the fruits or eating them but not so useful when you have to prepare the ground. Also, there are things that could be dangerous at their age and I prefer that they not touch them.

Lately I have found a very useful way to keep them focused on a task, origami. As I already explained in this article "Improving the creativity and manual dexterity of my children" I taught them a little of this Japanese technique and the truth is that it worked very well. They really liked the task and since then they like to make their creations. They stay surprisingly focused and share what they do with each other.
But the most important thing is that it allows me to do other things while keeping them under control without destroying anything.
