The importance of green areas in the city.

Hello hivians, how are you spending your week? It's already Thursday and the weekend is just around the corner. Surely many of you will go out to the countryside but others will stay in the city. But we all need a place where we can relax. And that's what my post today is about the importance of green areas in the city.

Although I don't live in the city now, I did for a long time and throughout my childhood. I'm a suburban girl. Luckily for me the city where I was born was not a concrete jungle then.
But today the cities have grown a lot in population and that means a lot more cement or, as they say, a concrete jungle.

The authorities wash their face by announcing green areas with trees everywhere, bicycle lanes or pedestrian areas. But if you have visited a big city lately or live in one of them, you will realize that it is just marketing. There are no more parks than before, only playgrounds or dog parks but no large parks to disconnect. If the city has a river, perhaps they have tidied up its surroundings a bit. If it has a beach they will have updated the promenade but more oriented towards tourism than towards the neighbors.
Bike lanes are simple paint on the road that does not offer any quality for the cyclist. And pedestrian areas are only ways to promote commerce for tourists or to have a place to hold celebrations that would undoubtedly not favor the rest of the neighbors.

Cities need green areas, but real green areas and that requires tearing down buildings, removing equipment and letting the land flourish again. Otherwise we are simply talking about a useless facelift.

Thank you very much for supporting my blog and I look forward to your comments.!
