Make smart gifts for Christmas.

Christmas is just around the corner, and that means consumerism and gifts. Who doesn't like receiving a present? But in recent years, it's fair to say we've gone a bit overboard. Especially with children, whose rooms look like shopping malls. Personally, I had a change of heart a few years ago. Stop giving silly, cheap gifts to everyone.

I don't know if it's right or wrong, but I haven't noticed any change in my social relationships, so it can't be that important. The first thing I changed was giving gifts to everyone. I started giving gifts to the people I truly care about, not to the coworker I've known for a month. The second change was asking people if they like the gifts because not everyone wants to receive something. And the third was making sure to buy something the person really needs, even if it's more expensive. After all, I can spend more now that I'm saving on pointless gifts.
