It's time to start planting tomatoes, peppers and eggplants from seed.

Hello friends, here I am on another Monday with my horticulture articles. This weekend it seems that the cold has returned but we must not get carried away by the specific changes and if we want to have tomatoes in summer we will have to start planting now.

I mean planting by seed, if you do it from seed, then you can wait two or three weeks for it to be warmer. These are data for a Mediterranean climate. If you are in another climate, keep in mind that you need the soil temperature to be at least 10º otherwise they will germinate poorly.

Another very important thing when planting this type of plants, nightshades, is that they are very sensitive to neck rot. So it is better to use new purchased soil to make the seedlings and not water too much if we want to have healthy plants before transplanting.
If you prefer, you can also plant directly in the ground using several seeds to ensure and put protection as a greenhouse. Any clear reused bottle will do. You don't need to spend anything.

Although nightshades may seem very difficult to care for, they are not, especially peppers, which are a very tough plant. With tomatoes and eggplants we will have to be especially careful of pests but I will explain that in other articles.

Thank you very much for supporting my blog and I look forward to your comments.!
