Electric car yes or electric car no?

Hello Hivians. How are you spending the week? I hope it's ok. The kids are driving me a little crazy this week. And my two little hooligans are starting to take their first field trips with the school. Furthermore, we are close to carnival and in the middle of all the preparations. But today I wanted to talk to you about a controversial topic again.
Electric cars yes or electric cars no?

My answer is clear. For the vast majority electric cars No. Why not? For several factors.

First let's talk about its usefulness:

• The range of a mid-range electric car, with luck, barely reaches 400 km, totally insufficient for a long trip.
• Charging points are few and inaccessible.
• Recharging is slow or if it is fast it reduces the useful life of the battery

The economic factor:

• Electric cars are considerably more expensive than the rest. Despite the many times they have told us that they would go down due to economies of scale, we can see that they are still much more expensive.
• The useful life of the battery is about 8 years and is 80% of the cost of an electric car. So forget about using it for 25 years like your old Mercedes that still works like the first day.
• Although it may seem that consumption is cheaper, this is not true and we can see many charging points that charge prices well above the market. The user has no alternatives.
• Taxes were low but as the market increases, the bonuses run out and taxes begin to be applied.
• Although it has less maintenance costs, if the battery breaks, it's over. You have to buy a new one, you don't have the possibility of repairing it. In the end it is more expensive.

The sustainability factor:

• I will summarize this in a single point: they are cars that have a shorter life cycle, therefore they generate much more waste. By having to manufacture many more, they also consume more resources and emit much more CO2 into the atmosphere.
