Carrots and radishes a sweet combination for our garden.

Hello friends, I'm back with my Monday articles about gardening and horticulture. Today I wanted to talk to you about another combination that works very well for me. It involves planting radishes along with carrots.

I love carrots but I always had a hard time growing them since I have clay soil in the garden. But in reality, I didn't know how to grow them correctly.
The first thing to grow carrots is to prepare the soil very well. You have to leave it light without stones. I recommend that you do a screening if it is the first time you prepare it. And then you dug it about 20 cm deep. You can also add a small amount of wood ash to add phosphorus that will help its growth.

Carrots do not have many land requirements, they develop well even if the soil is poor. Although of course they prefer fertile lands.
You have to sow them directly if you want to obtain good specimens. No transplants or you will get deformed, irregular carrots. And they require moist soil at least until they begin to germinate. Then regular watering is enough, controlling soil moisture.

And you might wonder why plant them with radishes? Simple. Carrots take between two and three weeks to germinate, which makes us doubt whether they will grow or, what is worse, we end up stepping on the planting frame. That's why I plant radishes around the carrot plantation. The radishes emerge in just 3 or 4 days, thus delimiting the path.
Another benefit of planting radishes is that they help scare away carrot flies. Also, since the radishes grow very quickly, they give us added protection to the small carrot plants at first and then we harvest them, leaving more space for our carrots to fully develop.
