Harvest and Delivery, Silverwood Park and Boulder Beach Water Park, Batch 59 Finished - Tuesday
Yesterday was a busy day. It started rather normal and I had to get out and get the squash picked right away. We would be gone all day and they can't be left to their own devices for even one day or else I get monsters.
21 pound went to the cooler then a little after 9am we all loaded up in the car, I loaded the boxes of produce for delivery to the co-op and we were on the road. Stopped at the co-op a little before end of intake then we drove on to Rathdrum.
We stopped at Harlow's Diner for breakfast and the boys got the first slug of sugar with their pancakes they split. Good food in a seemingly newish building. Once done eating we drove the 15 minutes to Silverwood.
Our friend works in the office and got comp tickets for us so after the long wait to get into the park we headed for the kids ride area. @stryeyz and the boys went on a few of the rides and J was all in while I could tell R was a bit nervous about them.
They went on the frog swing and R was holding on for dear life.
The tilt-o-whirl was able to seat us all.
We went on the ferris wheel which took a bit to get on but we got some good views of the park.
After the ferris wheel we stopped and got ice creams. Holy balls do they do massive servings. My sherbert was like a quart in a dish. The boys got their second heavy dose of sugar for the day. We got our ice creams and then walked out to the car to grab our stuff for the water park. I put my phone in the locker for most of the time so @stryeyz got the pictures.
J and I did one of the water slides then we went to the wave pools where we spent a large part of the rest of the day.
We got food around 5 which we all needed then we spent the rest of the time till closing in the wave pool.
Right at the end J wanted to go play in the kids area again and we closed down the water park. We were all destroyed from all the walking and the effort it takes to fight against the waves in the pools. Leaving the park I headed north west to Spirit Lake where we got gas before heading north to the Blanchard to Elk road which drops us on our side of Mt. Spokane right by where we have our scout meetings, about 12 miles north of the farm. Thank god there was little to no traffic which seems right for 8pm on a Tuesday night.
When we got home the freeze drier had been done for most of the day and was sitting waiting. 46:32 to finish the 5 trays, 3 squash and 2 cucumber. Today I have to get more trays ready and in the freeze dryer.
Even after the hours spent in the water park it was still quite nice to soak in the hot water before bed.
Today the heat wave kicks in again and I have to get sprinklers setup to rain on the gardens to remove the dust and dirt that the non-existent rains would normally do. Harvests, prepping the trays for the freeze dryer which will be a heat of the day thing, and maybe I will have a tomato ripe enough - the first of the season.

HI! I love your content but I've always wanted to ask you: Are you at all uncomfortable putting your family out on the internet in such a visible way?
Maybe it's just me being a paranoid, loner sort, and naive - but I don't want my face on the internet anymore. I realize the government and companies and bad people probably know everything they want to know about me, but I still feel uncomfortable about putting my face on the internet.
How did you overcome that fear and embrace living so publicly?
ty.
A large part of my daily posting is to show @stryeyz what I have been doing around the farm during the days while she is at work. I've not been to concerned about our faces online but I do try to minimize it some. As a veteran the government knows a lot already and the things I post are pretty benign. If others are able to learn from what I do then I feel it is worth the exposure.
Hi @flemingfarm, nice to see you again and I'm happy to see you had a lot of fun with the family. Summer is almost over, school is starting soon, so it's important to enjoy what's left of summer vacation 🙂
For this type of topics I'd like to suggest Daily Blog community, where you can share what's happened during the day.

Happy blogging :)
I am glad you had a good day at Silverwood. I worked three summers in the store at Boulder Beach, long ago, so I'm quite familiar with the place. The line for the ferris wheel always seems to take forever, but I guess the operator needs to take time to get it loaded and balanced properly. It's not a job I'd like to have.
That place looked like a good place to be on a hot day!
